Here is where you tryout for a cat with a high position. What do you do? Simply post here with your character, whether it be a medicine cat, leader, or deputy. The post must be at least 500 words, and it should be of the cat doing something that a cat of their position would usually be doing. (for example, if you were trying out for medicine cat, in your post make the cat collecting herbs or healing a sick cat rather than fighting.)
I will decide who gets each part after everyone who wants to try out for a particular position posts. I may be very picky about who I choose, so don't be upset if I am critical. If your cat gets chosen for the part, you must then make a bio for them.
Make sure to state what position you are trying out for, and the name of the cat you are using.

[snakestar of shadowclan] Light streamed into the leader's den, making him wake from his dreamless sleep. He lifted his head from his large paws and looked around his den. It was empty, he was alone. He shook his head, sending tiny pieces of moss flying off him. He sat up and yawned, his jaws streching wide, showing his white fangs. He licked his nose before he stood to his full height and streched his long back out, making his backside stick into the air and his head close to the ground. He stood once again and licked one of his large front paws before stepping out into the morning sunshine.
The camp was barely busy. He knew that most of the warriors wouldn't be up for a while, so he padded over to the fresh-kill pile and checked to see how low it was. It was almost full, but he knew he should send out a hunting patrol just to keep it full. He looked up at the trees around him. Green-leaf was his favorite season, but only because being leader was easy in green-leaf. He didn't have to worry about the clan going hungry, or rain washing the camp away. No, he could be some-what at peace during this season.
The black tom took a small mouse from the pile and padded back over to his den to eat the small creature. It wasn't very warm, but it was fresh. He pulled a piece from the mouse and swallowed. Once he took that first bite he realized how hungry he was. He finished the mouse quickly after that and when he was done he saw some warriors coming out of their den. He stood and padded over to them, his large paws barely making any sound as he crossed over to them.
"Good morning." The leader meowed to the three warriors who had come out of the den. The three looked over at him and smiles warmed their faces. The leader's eyes rested on a cream colored she-cat. She dipped her head at him and Snakestar dipped his head back. "Did you sleep well, Creamrose?" The leader asked the she-cat. She nodded and answered, "Yes, I did. And you?" Before Snakestar could answer one of the toms in the group answered. "Oh, I slept fine." Creamrose rolled her blue orbs at the white tom who had answered.
Snakestar chuckled and looked to the white male. "Well, Cloudear, I'm glad you slept fine." The white male chuckled then padded over to the fresh-kill pile. Snakestar turned back to Creamrose and asked, "Could you lead a boarder patrol?" He watched as the cream she-cat nodded before padding after her white friend. Snakestar sighed before he walked over to his den again and lied down in the entrance, his body half in half out of his den.
When all of the warriors were up and two appriences were awake he stood and padded over to the fresh-kill pile where most of the clan was. "Morning clan." He greeting everyone. Most of them greeted him back, but a few had their mouths full. "I have assigned Creamrose to be the leader of a boarder patrol. I want Silentfoot to lead a hunting patrol and Thunderbird to lead the other boarder patrol. You may chose who-ever you wish to go along with you, but make sure some appriences go with you." The leaders of the patrols nodded at him and then gathered everyone up.
Snakestar watched as the patrols leaved the camp and headed off into their territory. He yawned again, but with a smile on his maw. He was proud of himself. He had only been leader for a few moons, and the clan was already listening to him, with respect. He flicked his ears when he heard a few appritences talking over in their den, and he went over to join them.

Heatherstar of WindClan.
I'll be right here when you need me Anytime just keep believing
The sun was just a glimmer of light on the horizon. There was a rustle. A golden cat appeared, standing at the mouth of her den. Heatherstar's pelt shone brightly, and her blue eyes were like flashlights in the pre-morning sun. She raked her blue eyes across the camp, surveying it. Hopefully, all was well. She glanced to the side a little bit as the night patrol entered the camp. She padded over to them quickly. Fangpaw, Milknose, Dogstripe, and Flamepelt were on the patrol. She nodded quickly and glanced around. Welcome back. She turned to glance at the warriors den. Did the dawn patrol get organized? She heard a no, followed by a threatening hiss from Milknose. ShadowClan had better watch out. We smelled them on our side of the Thunderpath. Heatherstar shook her head. Why was everyone trying to threaten her Clan? She stood at the entrance and called out, her voice clear. Because the sun was barely up, the land was very cold. Harsh wind ruffled through Heatherstar's fur as she yowled into the den, Wake up! It's dawn! Gather your apprentices and start training. If you're free, then I need a hunting patrol and a dawn patrol.
At that moment, the whole den groggily woke up. Some grumbled, but Heatherstar yowled, I know you're tired, but we need prey, and it is the warrior code to defend our borders! Summersprite, a young warrior, padded past Heatherstar. I could go on the border patrol wih Snowpaw. she offered, It would be good experience for him. Heatherstar nodded. Yes, you can be in charge of the border patrol.Bring four or five other cats with you. Milknose, Dogstripe, Flamepelt, and Fangpaw smelled ShadowClan on our side of the Thunderpath. Watch out, we want to be prepared. Summersprite nodded, flashing a smile, and hurried away. Heatherstar gave an amused grin when she heard Snowpaw squeaking in delight about going on his first border patrol. She tapped her foot impatiently. We still need a hunting patrol! The fresh-kill pile is running low. The Clan was getting more clique-y these days, and they weren't listening to her as much. Heatherstar wondered what she should do. Maybe she had to confront them about this?
Just then, Goldenstripe, Sparklenose, Bluefur, and Rosepetal stepped forward quickly. They were one of the few warriors that Heatherstar could count on to do anything she said right the moment she said it. She breathed a sigh of relief. Okay, Bluefur, why don't you get Cinderpaw? Cinderpaw was Bluefur's apprentice. Bluefur nodded and hurried away with the rest of her friends. They were one clique. Then Summersprite would get all her clique buddies. Heatherstar wondered where Darkleaf, her deputy, was. Didn't the medicine cat say something about Darkleaf before? Heatherstar hurried over to the medicine cat's den. Darkleaf was there, having a coughing fit. S-sor-ry .... Heatherst-tar, I ... d-didn't know.... I-I was si-ck. she coughed out. Heatherstar smiled. It's okay, just get well. Just then, the medicine cat appeared and shooed Heatherstar away. How can I work with my patients with people bothering me right and left?

Faint: It's great! The only problem I see with it is that Snakestar seems to be carrying out a Deputy's Duty, by arranging patrols. But that's alright for now =]
Silver: It sounds really good! =] But, first you said it was ShadowClan that was invading, and then you said it was RiverClan. Make up your mind! xD
I'll read yours after, Fang, but now I have to get to school! xP

So does that mean once you check my application I'll be the leader of the clan? I can redo it and make another try-out if you would like. I can make him give an apprentice a warrior name or something like that. [/size]

in thunderclan camp, lots of cats were out in the clearing sharing tongues of their today's duty. there were different groups, some apprentices were eating for a reward for doing good work, and elders eating close to the elders den. the medicine cat of course wasn't with the groups but in the den. next were warriors and the senior warriors near the highrock. some of the oldest seniors were with the leader of course and the deputy talking to other seniors.
littlestar nodded, his eyes closed, face motionless as he chewed over a piece of his mouse. the small tom was thinking about something, he normally does. his thoughts roared on to the past gatherings, the good and bad news and stuff. littlestar couldn't really wait to go to tonight's gathering. to most cats, other than apprentices and the newly made warriors, this was the time where he would get to see his elderly mother ravenleaf in shadowclan. he got to know that his brother oakstep, died by the thunderpath, and his sister yellowpelt has her very first apprentice made a warrior. it had been really pleasing to learn of his littermates that he never knew. but the thing was, do they know he was their brother and that their father was really thornstar, the former leader in thunderclan who littlestar loved and respected. maybe, or maybe not, he should ask ravenleaf about that.
he took another bite and started his thoughts to what he should do. littlestar had already told his deputy this morning who he wanted to take to the gathering. he'd chosen the two newly made warriors, tawnyears and windwhisker. and then decided to take three apprentices, rainpaw, lionpaw, and ashpaw. the other cats he'd chosen were two elders, two queens, and four of his senior warriors, as well as the medicine cat and his deputy. well you got to take the deputy and medicine cat with you, if not it would show something is wrong. littlestar doesn't want to show any bit of weakness to the other clans.
when he was done he got to his paws and went up to his deputy. 'its time to leave' he ordered, seeing that the sun was now setting. if they don't want to be late they should hurry. his deputy nodded and left to the entrance as littlestar turned to his cats. not needing to say a word the cats that he chose got to their paws, having seen that their leader was looking at them in that stern look of an order.
with farewells and good lucks on the gathering, littlestar went through the tunnel and passed the ravine. though he was small, smaller than most cats he was pretty quick, running just as fast as his cats behind him. he knew that along time ago most of these cats used to resent him and call him a burden, a weakling, a cat that would never be able to be a true warrior. twistwing, the cat that stopped thornstar from ever seeing ravenleaf ever again and the cat that took him in had also resented him, hating him with all her heart. the only ones that were with them those days were his half brother and sister and morely his father. but ever since littlestar showed his strengths than his weaknesses the cats that had tortured him began to respect him. now they are loyal to him and he knew that they would all die for him. he started to think that was this what firestar felt like, everyone knew that he used to be a kittypet, lots of cats had teased him over it yet he became the most respected cats in the forest.
not just firestar, but maybe this what bramblestar had felt like too.
the patrol paused at the slope, taking breathers and watching below of the cats down in fourtrees. already riverclan and shadowclan where there, but windclan don't seem to be there yet. as he waited for the elders and queens he began to think what he was going to say tonight. it was his duty to make sure that he doesn't show weakness in his clan. ok, let's see, let's start by saying that the prey is running smoothly, umm and currently this leafbare no one is ill and we have two newly made warriors and a new apprentice. he paused, wait that isn't right, it should be that this leafbare no cat is ill and that thunderclan has two new warriors and a new apprentice. windwhisker, tawnyears and ashpaw. once more he paused, yes that should do.
littlestar looked to his cats, they nodded to show that they were ready to join the other clans. he nodded in approval, he turned and raced down the slope and joined the rest of the cats, having his head and tail high as he walked into the mass of cats.

(Whisperingbrook - Medicine Cat Of Riverclan)
Light danced on the floor of the medicine den in the Riverclan camp. A beautiful golden tabby she-cat woke. Her dazzling green eyes glanced around before she yawned and stretched. She blinked the sleep out of her eyes are she sat down. She licked a white paw and rubbed her ear. She pricked her ears as she heard the faint murmurs of her clan-mates. She stood and stretched again. Her back arched into a U shape. She straightened and stepped gracefully into the sunlit clearing.
Whisperingbrook's dazzling green eyes shone as the sunlight hit them. She dipped her head in hello to Coldcreek, the queen she visited regularly due to her swollen belly. She padded gracefully over to the fresh-kill pile. Placing each paw gently and carefully in front of the other. She stopped and lowered her head, picking a water vole for her breakfast. She turned and padded back to her den. Laying down so she was half in the den and half out.
Whisperingbrook licked her muzzle after she finished her meal. She began smoothing her pelt. She smiled with satisfaction after each hair was returned to it's correct place on her slender body. She turned as Banditshard, the deputy and her good friend, bounded over to her. She waved her tail in hello. He smiled and dipped his head in respect," Hello Whisperingbrook, lovely morning is it not?" He mewed, his tone rough and smooth at the same time. She laughed gently," Yes it is. Good morning Banditshard." Her voice was almost hypnotic. The sweet and gentle tone mixed with something that demanded respect. He smiled and mewed," If you need any help gathering herbs today Shallowpaw is free." Whisperingbrook nodded and waved her tail in farewell as the deputy bounded away to join the Sunhigh patrol.
Whisperingbrook padded over to the apprentices den and poked her head inside. The light was dim and it took a minute before her beautiful eyes adjusted and she was able to find the blue-gray pelt of Shallowpaw. She padded over to the young she-cat and nudged her gently," Shallowpaw. Banditshard said you would help me gather herbs." Shallowpaw woke and yawned, nodding. She stood and stretched, then shook her pelt. Her ice-blue eyes shining," Yup! I'm ready when you are!"
As Whisperingbrook padded along the river with Shallowpaw she began telling Shallowpaw what they needed," We are low on juniper berries, watermint, poppy seeds and marigold. If we can gather all of those it would be an excellent help." She flashed a beautiful smile and Shallowpaw nodded. Whisperingbrook scented the air and caught the sweet scent of watermint. She followed the scent to the edge of the river and began biting at the stems, collecting a much as she could.
As Whisperingbrook and Shallowpaw padded in the medicine den a large black tom limped into the den behind them," Hi Whisperingbrook." He muttered, wincing as he hit his paw on the ground. She layed her herbs on the ground and helped the tom to a nest," What happened Darkwhisper?" She asked, her voice full of concern. Darkwhisper began explaining what had happened. He had been hunting and he got his paw stuck in a hole. Whisperingbrook shook her head and giggled slightly, it was just like the careless tom to get his large paw stuck in a hole.
As Whisperingbrook began tending to Darkwhisper's sprained paw she looked at Shallowpaw," Can you get me the poppy seeds please." She turned back to Darkwhisper and mewed," Okay, your done." She took the poppy seeds as Shallowpaw came back with them and rolled two toward the warrior," I want you to sleep and rest. You won't be any good if your paw doesn't heal. You need to stay off of it. If you aren't sure you can do that there is always a nest in here." She mewed. He laughed and stood on wobbly legs," No I think I can rest a couple days." He mewed and licked up the poppy seeds, limping out of the den.
Whisperingbrook turned to Shallowpaw and purred," Thank you for helping me gather herbs and getting me the supplies I needed. You would be an excellent medicine cat. You're a very quick learner." She smiled and Shallowpaw's fur grew hot with embarrassment. Whisperingbrook laughed, her musical laugh, and turned when she heard Banditshard brush through the entrance," Shallowpaw, are you ready to go hunting?" He asked. Shallowpaw nodded and bounded away, mewing over her shoulder," Thanks for letting me help Whisperingbrook!" And with that the medicine cat was left alone in her den.

Very good! =]
Though while I was reading, I noticed that you seemed to start a lot of sentances like this:
" She began smoothing her pelt. She smiled with satisfaction after each hair was returned to it's correct place on her slender body. She turned as Banditshard, the deputy and her good friend, bounded over to her. She waved her tail in hello. "
It became a little repetitive. Other than that, however, it was a very good try out. In the future, try and think of a different way to tell what she's doing. For example:
" She began smoothing her pelt, and smiled with satisfaction after each hair was returned to it's correct place on her slender body. As she turned her head to one side, she saw Banditshard, the deputy and her good friend, boundingover to her. She waved her tail in hello. "
Something like that xD But it was a very good try-out! ACCEPTED! :3 Now, go make her bio! [/blockquote]

runningleaf medicine cat of windclan
Fear was the first thing that she scented. Adrenaline coursed through her veins and she jumped to her paws, waiting for a report on whatever had happened. Smokefur leaped into her den, panting. "Badger . . . attacked our patrol . . . broke Graypaw's leg . . . he needs help." Runningleaf flattened her ears, leading Smokefur to some herbs. Thank StarClan she had always been prepared for this sort of thing! Two piles of herbs, made out of poppy seeds, cobwebs, comfrey, broom, and chamomile had always sat in the back of her den. Smokefur grabbed one without having to be told; she grabbed the other in case it was needed for backup, getting another swab of cobwebs purposely stuck on her paw as the tom led her away. Her fur bristled as she tangy scent of blood hit her mouth, even through the herbs. Dropping them a few steps away from the apprentice, she hissed, "Fools! You tried to move him!" Claws unsheathing, she took the bundle of herbs from Smokefur and stuck it next to her own pile.
Pulling the cobwebs off her paw, Runningleaf pressed them against Graypaw's leg then flicked her tail and summoned Cloudheart. "Hold these here," she mewed quickly, whirling around and grabbing a pawful of poppy seeds. "Eat these. It'll help ease your pain." The other apprentice, a she-cat named Birchpaw, held back without knowing what to do. Runningleaf gestured for her to help; she jumped forward and waited for instructions. "Make sure he eats all of those seeds, then refresh the cobwebs on his leg for Cloudheart. You can find more behind me." Without a word the apprentice did as she instructed, coaxing Graypaw into eating the poppy seeds. Runningleaf grasped the broom into her mouth and dropped it at Smokefur's paws. "Chew that up, but don't swallow any. We'll want to get it on his leg as soon as possible. When you finish just set them there." Her tail rested on a stone to her left for a moment to show him where.
Runningleaf put one of her paws on Graypaw's leg and began to rub it. The other pulled the comfrey to her and she began chewing it, listening for when the warrior put the broom on the stone. She heard a soft splat, then turned and put her own herbs on. "Okay, did you see how I was rubbing his paw?" "Yes." "Continue rubbing it until I get this made. Birchpaw, have you refreshed those webs yet?" Her blue eyes turned at the apprentice. Then she mixed the chewed up herbs together, absentmindedly chewing the chamomile in her mouth the hole time. Dropping it on the mix, her paws moved quickly to stir them. Then she grabbed half of the poultice in her mouth and carried it over to Graypaw's leg, massaging it in. After a few moments, she helped him to his paws and sent Birchpaw to support his leg. "Okay. Cloudheart, go ahead and make sure nobody freaks out when we get back to camp. Smokefur, go to my den and make sure there's a large nest that isn't already claimed."
Runningleaf licked Graypaw behind the ear. "You'll be okay, I promise. Just take it slow." Keeping her tail on the apprentice's shoulder, she led the three of them back to camp. Her blind eyes glanced over where she could hear Cloudheart quickly explaining what happened. Smokefur emerged from her den right before she entered; nodding softly at him, he whispered, "Thank you." Runningleaf knew that Graypaw was his son; of course this would matter to him. Smiling softly, her tail blocked Birchpaw's way in and the apprentice rushed back to her den. Runningleaf supported Graypaw the rest of the way. "Does it feel any better?" She asked; "Not very much, thanks." Graypaw fell softly into his nest while Runningleaf pulled together more herbs. "If you need help getting to sleep or your pain increases, here's the rest of the poultice and some poppy seeds. Rub the herbs onto your leg or eat the seeds, but don't eat the poultice or rub the seeds in. If you begin to bleed take these cobwebs and push them to it. And if you need any help, just whisper my name. You have no idea how light of a sleeper I am when I have other cats in my den." She heard him nod softly, then backed up and curled into her den.

Braveheart of ThunderClan picture: As brave as a lion, and as strong as a bear, just call me, and I'll be right there. (561 WORDS) MODIFIED. Sunlight filtered into the warrior's den. From her nest in the center, Braveheart stretched and yawned. Making her way out of the den, she padded over to where Littlestar was sitting. “I want you to take Snakefang and Skystorm on a hunting patrol with you,” the ThunderClan leader mewed. “We need all the fresh-kill we can get, and they're the best hunters in the Clan,” he explained. “Okay.” Braveheart nodded. She then padded over to the warriors den to collect the other two. When they were ready, they exited out through the tunnel and down the ravine. A few young rabbits were hopping about, looking for grass. The two warriors and the deputy nodded at each other and crept forward, towards the rabbits. Suddenly, the rabbits started hopping away, as fast as their little legs would carry them, as a WindClan tom pursued them. The three ThunderClan cats hissed with fury and sped after the trespasser, who didn’t seem to notice them, being intent on catching the prey. He was white in colour, and incredibly thin, even compared to ThunderClan. He pounced on one of the rabbits, and, killing it swiftly, set out after the other two rabbits, and found himself facing Braveheart. Quickly she pinned him to the ground, as Snakefang and Skystorm trotted back up to her, each with a plump rabbit in their mouths. Braveheart demanded, “What are you doing on ThunderClan territory?” The WindClan warrior replied indignantly, “I was chasing prey .WindClan needs fresh-kill more than ThunderClan does!” Skystorm dumped her rabbit on the ground and hissed, “That’s not true! Besides, it’s ThunderClan property! Go back to your territory, thief!” With three pairs of eyes accompanying him, the WindClan tom retreated back to his own territory. Once they got back to camp, Braveheart told Littlestar everything. When she was finished, Littlestar mewed, “Well, I’m sure it won’t happen again. But thanks for telling me.We’ll have to make sure there are extra patrols alon their border.” Braveheart nodded, and went over to the fresh-kill pile, which had grown considerably since she had been on patrol. She chose a squirrel, and sat down by the nettle patch to eat it. Soon, Skystorm and Snakefang came to sit with her, one crunching on a blackbird, the other with a mouse in his jaws. Between bites, they conversed. ‘So,’ asked Skystorm, “have you heard anything about your uncle?” Braveheart froze mid-bite. Her uncle, Ambereye, had murmured her parents when she had just become an apprentice. He had tried to kill Braveheart, too, because there had been a prophecy about her, which he had overheard the medicine cat repeating one night. It was about Braveheart becoming deputy…And Ambereye wanted that position for himself. When he had tried to kill Braveheart, she fought him, while yowling for all she was worth. Her yowling brought to patrols to their area, who had Braveheart (Bravepaw at that time) explain the situation, saw her parents dead bodies, and believed what she told them.Ambereye was exiled from the Clan, but he then went and joined ShadowClan, after living as a rogue for some time. “No, I haven’t, but no doubt I’ll see him at the next gathering!” she meowed, forcing humor into her voice. “Well, I don’t know about you two,’ Braveheart mewed, finishing her squirrel, “But I’m going on another hunting patrol. The clan needs the fresh-kill!” I'M GOING TO EDIT MY BIO TOMORROW.

that doesn't seem like littlestar at all. for one thing, he would never get so upset just because one clan cat invaded his territory. sure he would tell the clan, but not after much later, if this was real rping, he would want the deputy to put extra patrols near windclan borders, but he would never warn the clan that quickly, only if it happens again with a full windclan patrol. sorry that I'm saying this, I just get all hicked up when someone uses my characters the wrong way.
