Snakestar The sun was barely coming up as Snakestar crossed the river onto RiverClan's land. He felt bad about coming on with-out sending a patrol first, but the fire was coming quick, Ottersong was dying as she walked, and he had to warn the other clan. 'In bad times you aren't four clans, but all one clan.' The thought ran through his mind and Snakestar almost looked around to see if a cat from StarClan had come down to speak to him.
"Snakestar. I can't go on." Ottersong's voice was weak and the tom could tell from her paw steps that she was getting very weak. He stopped as a few of his clan members passed him. One was the young tom, Jaypaw. The leader saw that he was with another she-cat, but he wasn't sure who she was. He frowned then called the tom. "Jaypaw. Run forward and get Silverpool. Ottersong needs her help." His commands were given and the tom watched as Jaypaw took off toward the Riverclan camp.
He felt Ottersong slip away from him and he turned his focus back on her. He helped her lie on the side that didn't have the branch. He sighed and wished that his clan had a medicine cat. He looked around for anyone to help him, so he just called the first name that came to his mind. "Cloudpaw! Come help me!" He didn't know if his cry was heard or not, so he lied down beside Ottersong and pressed his warm body into her cooling one. He looked up to the dark sky and prayed to StarClan that she would make it. Ottersong The water rushed around her paws and Ottersong almost slipped, but Snakestar was there to catch her. She groaned in pain as the branch that was suck in her side went further in. She knew that she wasn't going to make it, and fear struck her as her paws hit the dry side of the river on RiverClan's side. She opened her maw, letting a few words fall. "Snakestar. I can't go on." She felt him stop and she stopped as well.
Her own weight was making her legs shake and she slipped down, her brown fur rubbing against her leader's fur. She felt the cold ground beneath her body, and she heard Snakestar calling for memebers of the clan, but she was too out of it to make out what he was saying. She groaned again as he pushed her body around so that she was lying on her not hurt side. Then she felt Snakestar's warm body near her's and she sighed. Jaypaw As the young tom ran with his sister, he felt proud. He had gotten some of his family back together. He had done it. He knew that now was not the time to be proud, with a fire behind him and cats dying from his clan, but it couldn't be helped. As he crossed the river he made sure that his sister was okay before he jumped the last bit of the water. When his paws hit the dry side of the river he sighed and looked back for his sister.
"Jaypaw! Run forward and get Silverpool. Ottersong needs her help." Snakestar's voice came from somewhere but the tom heard the command. "Yes Snakestar!" He called out into the smokey air before he bolted from his spot, hoping that his sister was following behind him. As he ran he felt the cool breeze in his face, but it did not make him happy. He knew that when the wind blew, the fire moved. Panic rushed through him, giving him a jolt of speed.
"Silverpool!" He cried as he burst into the RiverClan clearing. "Help! We need your help!" He cried again, hoping that the medicine cat was some where close by, but it was just morning. He wanted to cry out again, but he was sure that he had seen a figure of some kind move near one of the dens.

LITTLESTAR
the tortoiseshell tom stopped at once as he realized that braveheart wasn't with him. fear stabbed at his heart, his mind began to race as he walked back toward the fire and stopped from a mew, then he remembered there was a kit in his mouth. but braveheart needs me too! he wailed. what is he going to do, he put down the kit and looked around, then found a cat that smelled of shadowclan.
he came up to the cat and dropped the kit to his paws. "take the kit to riverclan" he turned and ran back into the fire. though he knew he made an order to a warrior that was not of his clan, he knew that this was life and death situation, and that the clans need to band together if they are all going to survive.
then he stopped, his ears pricked as he heard braveheart's voice in a ring of fire. "braveheart" he gasped and he realized she was trapped. looking around he found a long big branch. he grapped it and dragged it with as much strength he could ever have and through it on the fire, making it a bridge. "braveheart, through here" he yowled, "quickly."
he saw her coming across, he smiled and his heart slowed in relief that she was still ok and that the kit also was ok. once across he started to run again but this time he let her take the lead, not letting her out of his sight. but then a yowl rang out and screams, he turned left and right, the yowl all around him. then he stopped dead, a tree was falling and braveheart was right under it now.
"NO" he leaped and pushed her out of the way as it landed on top of him. he felt a rush of pain then nothing.

TARA . SKYKIT
tara stopped seeing a tom with a wounded she-cat call out to her brother, ordering him to go and get help. she realized that this was snakestar, her clan leader. seeing that cloudpaw was also hurt and was across she decided that she could help him. she leaped back into the water and swam across, not much like a riverclan cat but decent enough to help her leader.
"I can help" she volunteered, looking up at him, her purple collar darker purple by all the water but still easily seen.

Braveheart lay on the ground for a moment, gasping for breath. In a heartbeat, she sprang up. Scrabbling desperately at the blazing trunk, she pushed with all her might, and the tree thudded onto the scorched earth. Knowing that Littlestar was almost indefinitely losing a life, she grabbed her mate by the scruff, and dragged him as gently as she could toward the river. This is all my fault, she thought miserably. If only I'd waited and gone with the patrol, Littlestar would still have nine lives! But no, he lost one because of my mouse-brained selfishness! The flame-coloured she cat suddenly felt icy water under her paws. With the fire raging closer all the time, she had no choice but to swim for the far bank.
She arranged herself so that Littlestar's body was on her back, with his head touching the back of her neck. Taking a deep breath, she slid into the water with a splash. She pushed herself forward, Littlestar's body a dead weight on top of her own. Floundering around for a few moments, she felt panic as she tried to reach the bottom, then relief as her claws scraped against rock and soil. Braveheart pulled herself and Littlestar up onto dry land, her pelt clean of the ash and grime of the fire. Setting her mate down gently and carefully on a patch of moss, she lay down beside him, waiting for him to wake. Please, Littlestar, your Clan needs you!

ebonysky. She passed Cloudpaw as she continued to run. She heard the loud crack of another tree falling, but ignored it and continued to run. The thing that stopped her was hearing Ebonypaw cry for help. She stopped in her tracks and looked back to see the apprentice leaning over one of the fallen trees. She dashed back over to her, and saw what she was looking at. Cloudpaw's leg was caught beneath the tree.
"How can we get him out?" She panted, both to herself and Ebonypaw. She tried to think. Simply pulling him out probably wouldn't work, and moving the tree was clearly out. Wasn't there some herb that Medicine Cats used to help make things slippery? She strained to remember what it was, but she couldn't remember.
cougarclaw. He heard Windstar's call from the medicine cat den, and looked to Runningleaf.
"Should we go out?" He mewed, glancing out the narrow entrance to see his leader leap onto the Tall Rock. Even from where he was, it seemed to him like Windstar's face looked worried. Being cooped up in the Medicine Cat's den for a few moons, they had missed their fair share of Clan meetings, but there was something about this meeting that Cougarclaw felt was important. Not only that, he needed to get out and get some fresh air.
He had chosen to stay in the den and keep Runningleaf company for the past few lonely moons, feigning sick. He could always go out to the meeting, but he wanted Runningleaf to confirm that it was alright for him to do so.

Ebonypaw shook her head. "Here-- the tree looks really weak. If you're willing to singe your pelt a little bit then we can jump on it over and over and over until it's mostly ashes, then we can drag him out." She slammed against the tree as hard as she could; hissing in the pain from the heat, she was surprised as it crumbled away. Then she snatched the tom's pelt and tugged, feeling the tree go loose. His body was pulled out, but she dropped him and yowled when she saw his leg. It was completely destroyed, bloody and torn probably in half. Hyperventilating, she turned away and fled over to RiverClan's territory.
Runningleaf shook her head. "The kits are- are coming. Tonight or tomorrow morning. I can feel it." Her voice shook like a leaf; pulling deeper into the den, she whispered, "If anyone asks, you're better and I caught whatever you had, but you were here for so long that you know how to treat it." Her voice almost rose up in a wail. Burying her nose into his fur, she moved back into a ball of moss as far back into the den as she could. They were probably going to be so screwed.
